Borussia Dortmund Fans Offer Their Houses with Harshtag #bedforawayfans to Help Stranded Monaco Supporters

The Champions League quarter-final meeting between the sides was quickly postponed following the incident involving the Borrussia Dortmund side as they made their way to the stadium for the match. Monaco fans were quick to show their support for their hosts, with the travelling supporters chanting ‘Dortmund’ in the stands at the Westfalenstadion.

That gesture was soon reciprocated when Dortmund fans began to offer the stranded Monaco supporters a bed for the night.

The hashtag #bedforawayfans took off and pictures of the rival supporters coming together in the homes of Dortmund supporters began to emerge.

Tonight however those same supporters will be back on rival sides with the first-leg tie rearranged for 5.45pm this afternoon.

Heavy security will be in place in Germany for the rescheduled match following last night’s events.

Three explosions went off near the team bus with the blasts smashing the coach’s windows and bursting tyres.

Dortmund player Marc Bartra, a Spain international, was taken to hospital and has undergone surgery on his hand. Club spokesman Sascha Fligge said he had broken a bone in his right wrist and needed ‘foreign objects’ removing from his arm.

Police said they were working on the assumption that the blasts were directed at the Dortmund team and caused by ‘serious explosive devices,’ which may have been hidden in a hedge near a car park.

A letter claiming responsibility was found near the site of the blasts, prosecutor Sandra Luecke told a late evening news conference.

Real Madrid Left Back Marcelo Ruled Out for One Month while Toni Kroos will Miss Real Madrid's trip to Alaves

Real Madrid star Toni Kroos is set join Marcelo in the treatment room when Los Blancos visit Alaves on Saturday (23 September) after suffering a rib injury. The news is a fresh concern for Zinedine Zidane as Karim Benzema, Theo Hernandez, Jesus Vallejo and Mateo Kovacic are also ruled out for the visit to Mendizorroza due to various injuries. Kroos, 27, missed the last weekend's 3-1 victory over Real Sociedad due to a fitness problem. The Germany international returned to Zidane's starting line-up for Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Real Betis and was able to complete the full 90 minutes. However, it looks like Kroos suffered a recurrence of the problem in that game after Real Madrid revealed on Friday morning that the midfielder skipped the final training session before Los Blancos' trip to Vitoria. Zidane himself later confirmed the blow in a press conference, adding that he expects the midfielder to recover in time for the crucial Champions League trip t
