"I Will only Get Better " - Alvaro Morata Warns Premier League Rivals

Alvaro Morata has warned Chelsea’s Premier League rivals that he will only get better after making a blistering start to life in English football. The Spaniard has banged in six goals in his first six matches in the league, including a fabulous hat-trick against Stoke on Saturday.

Plenty had been made of whether he was capable of replacing the departing Diego Costa – who was told he was surplus to requirements by Antonio Conte at the start of the summer – and after being perhaps harshly criticised for his display against Arsenal, he hit back at his critics in style against Stoke just a week later.

His high quality treble sees him top the Premier League scoring charts along with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku but Morata insists there’s plenty more to come.

‘I am happy with my start in the Premier League but I can do better,’ he said.

‘I had two chances at the end of the game against Stoke [but didn’t take them].

‘I also need to improve my physical condition to be as good as possible.’

The 24-year-old, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid in the summer, is gearing up for a huge double header prior to the international break, as he prepares to face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid in Spain before welcoming Premier League table toppers Manchester City to west London.

‘It’s a very important week before the international break and we need to give our best for these two matches,’ he added.

‘We have a Champions League match now and we have to keep working.’
