Chelsea Loanee Andreas Christensen Wants to Impress Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte in Pre-season

A second excellent season on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach has sparked reports the Germans want to make Christensen’s spell permanent. But Andreas Christensen has played down rumours he could be set for a summer switch away from Chelsea by insisting he will undergo pre-season with the Blues.

But Chelsea are said to be uninterested in selling the promising centre-back and Christensen revealed his future is still at Stamford Bridge. ‘I really want to play finals, but it depends on what happens at club level,’ Christensen told Danish Paper BT.

‘I have not had a holiday in a really long time.

‘If I’m going back to England and I need to impress my new coach in pre-season.

Antonio Conte has been playing three at the back this season to help fire Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League and within touching distance of the title.

Christensen has missed just three league games for Monchengladbach and played in four of six of their Champions League games.

However, the 20-year-old was powerless to stop his side slipping out of Europe with the Bundesliga team currently tenth in the league.

Christensen has made just three senior appearances for Chelsea and would be hard pressed forcing either David Luiz or Gary Cahill out of Conte’s side.
