Manchester United will Probably Lose the Match against Middlesbrough, Says Jose Mourinho - Mind Game or Fact?

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has reiterated that his side United will probably lose to Middlesbrough on Sunday considering their tight match schedules and a lot of enemies around his team. The Red Devils were not at their best against the Russian side, scraping through 2-1 on aggregate as Juan Mata struck this evening’s sole goal in the second half.

It’s been a hectic schedule for United of late, with Mourinho’s side losing to Chelsea in the FA Cup on Monday evening, which itself came just four days after their long trip to Rostov last Thursday.

The Portuguese believes his side have ‘a lot of enemies’ and thinks the fatigue could cost them against Middlesbrough when they return to Premier League action in just three days’ time.

‘We have a lot of enemies,’ he said after tonight’s game.

‘It should just be Rostov, but it’s difficult to play Monday night, it’s difficult to play with ten men, it’s difficult to play Rostov. It’s difficult to play 12 o’clock on Sunday. We have a lot of enemies.

‘I understand people saying we should play better, score more goals, but the reality is that we have lots of things going against us. We have to fight. The boys are amazing boys, but probably we’ll lose the game on Sunday.’
