Bournemouth Complete Nathan Ake Signing from Chelsea as Conte Continues His Summer Ruthlessness

The 22-year-old spent the first half of last season on-loan on the south coast before returning to his parent club, playing a bit-part role in Chelsea’s Premier League title success and run to the FA Cup final. Antonio Conte had been full of praise for the way in which the Netherlands international acclimatized to life back at Stamford Bridge but the versatile defender has now been deemed surplus to his requirements.

‘I had a great time here last season so I’m really happy to be back,’ said Ake, who is believed to have cost the Cherries around £20million.

‘It’s an exciting challenge. Chelsea is a great club and I learned so much there but this is a new step and the right place for me to develop even more.

‘The fans haven’t seen the best of me yet. I always set the bar high so I know there is a lot of things I still have to work on.

‘With the help of the manager here I know I can keep improving and become a better player.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe added: ‘I am delighted that we have completed the signing of Nathan on a permanent basis.

‘He is someone we know all about, having had a very successful loan spell here last season.

‘Nathan is an outstanding young player with a fantastic attitude and a great desire to learn and develop.

‘He has a very bright future ahead of him and I’m very pleased to say that future is here.’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Could Make Man United Return this Year, Says Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is confident Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be available for Manchester United before the end of the year. The Swedish striker - who has been regularly updating his Instagram followers of his rehabilitation from a knee injury - has this week begun doing some very light ball work with the club's coaching staff at Carrington. Ibrahimovic signed a new one-year deal at United on August 24 after the first serious injury of his career cut short a stellar first season at Old Trafford earlier this year. The player's doctor Freddie Fu has warned against rushing his return and United boss Jose Mourinho had previously suggested he will not play for the club in January but has reassessed that prediction. "(Paul) Pogba is not here I don't know when he will be back," he said. "Zlatan is working under our control here as I would expect. He is working so, so hard but he won't be back in the next week or the next couple of weeks. "He nee...

Dembele has since made three more appearances, playing 25 minutes during the win over Real Sociedad after replacing Paulinho in the second half. But the Frenchman will miss the upcoming games after Barcelona revealed that th...
