Manchester United Must Cough Out €100m if They Want Andrea Belotti - Torino President

Manchester United have been told they must pay £88million if they want to sign Andrea Belotti this summer. The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for the Torino striker. The 23-year-old enjoyed an exception season last term, scoring 26 goals in 35 Serie A appearances.

Reports suggest Jose Mourinho sees the Italy international, who scored on Sunday night in Italy’s 5-0 win over Liechtenstein, as an ideal partner for fellow target Alvaro Morata. But Manchester United will have to stump up more than the £70m they want to pay for the striker.

Torino president Urbano Cairo claims Belotti wants to remain at his current club and that the only way he could leave is if his release clause is triggered.

‘I care about Belotti and I’m keeping hold of him,’ Cairo told Italian broadcaster Radio 24.

‘He has a contract with Torino until 2021. I would only sell him for €100m [£88m], but even then he can refuse.

‘The most important thing is what he wants, regardless of the release clause, and I believe he wants to stay.

‘We are trying to build the best possible team at Torino.

‘Belotti is busy on international duty [with Italy] at the moment and then he is getting married on Thursday – he invited me.’
