DEAL CLOSE as Barcelona Star Lionel Messi Sends Parting Message to Neymar ahead of Record £198m PSG Move

Lionel Messi has paid tribute to Neymar ahead of the Brazilian’s imminent world-record move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain, wishing him luck at his new club. The 25-year-old winger was given permission to leave Barca’s training in order to complete a move to PSG after the French giants committed to paying his £198 million release clause.

Neymar’s transfer will smash the previous record, held by Paul Pogba’s £89m move to Manchester United last summer, and should be completed by the end of the week.
It has been claimed that Neymar’s motivation to leave Barca is born out of a desire to escape Messi’s shadow and be the main man somewhere else, though if there is any animosity between the two he did not let it show in a classy Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon.
‘It was a huge pleasure to have shared all these years with you my friend,’ he wrote on Instagram.

‘I wish you good luck in this new stage of your career.’

Neymar and Messi spent four years together following his move from Santos and formed an exhilarating partnership, especially when Luis Suarez arrived a year later.

The now infamous ‘MSN’ attack scored an incredible 228 goals in La Liga during that time, one every 39 minutes.
