Karim Benzema has committed his future to Real Madrid by signing a new four-year deal. Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema agrees to extend his contract until 2021, the club have confirmed. The French forward extended his stay at La Liga club until June 30 2021.
Vice-captain Marcelo, Isco and Dani Carvajal have all extended their deals to remain until 2022 over the past week with Real rewarding key members of the squad.
The France international, who is 29, joined Madrid from Lyon for €35 million in 2009 and has won 14 trophies at the Bernabeu.
His deal had been set to expire in 2019, and the new deal means he will remain at the Bernabeu past his 33rd birthday.
Reports in Spain say his net salary has been increased to more than €7.5 million a year and that the new arrangement includes a release clause of €1 billion.
In recent years, Benzema has been linked with clubs such as Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain but said recently: "As a forward, when you're at a club and you're a first-team regular, you don't need to look elsewhere -- especially when you're at a club like Real Madrid."
