Roy Keane Advises Mourinho to ‘Shut up’ and Focus on the Job Being Paid for

Roy Keane says Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho should ‘shut up’ and stop listening to his critics. Mourinho said he would leave it to the ‘specialists’ to analyse United’s 2-0 win against Benfica on Tuesday following criticism of his side’s style of play in recent weeks. The Portuguese boss made a ‘shushing’ gesture following United’s 1-0 win against Tottenham last weekend and told critics to ‘relax and stay calm’ after the victory.

The Red Devils have only lost one match so far this season and have a 100% record in the Champions League but Mourinho’s comments have created a slightly negative atmosphere at the club.

Mourinho’s side face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and Keane says the self-proclaimed Special One should ‘shut up’ and focus on winning matches.

‘My only concern about Mourinho is that he seems to be distracted by the so-called critics out there,’ Keane told ITV. ‘He is probably paid eight, nine or ten million pounds a year so focus on your own job. Rise above that. He should be better than that, but he seems to be easily upset. ‘Shut up and get on with your job. You are getting very well paid for it.’
